symlinks packages so it doesn't litter your ssd with a bunch of copies of the same thing from node modules

managing node versions so you don’t need nvm/volta etc.

if you every did 'npm install' on spinning disk drive , you will 100% appreciate it's symlink and caching and quick resolution and getting you to code faster and .... all of it .... 😀
