OK does anyone have any idea why conventional "breakfast" food seems to so often come with absolutely no vegetables?

It’s only the British bias. Chinese breakfast has vegetables! πŸ†πŸ₯¦πŸ₯’πŸ₯•πŸŒ½πŸ…πŸ₯¬πŸŒΆοΈπŸ§…πŸ§…πŸ§„πŸ«›πŸ«‘

Indeed! One of my favorite things about Chinese cuisine is the excellent vegetable selection. Though even there it's not perfect, there are times when I only see 油村 and 豆框 and η²₯.

It feels in my experience that, while different cultures differ in the absolute level of veggie availability, you pretty much everywhere get less veggie at breakfast and more at lunch/dinner.

I’m in Britain right now and just are an eggs Benedict, this is what’s left of it. It’s pretty carb-y!
