What are your thoughts on talking/interviewing someone like Putin? I think @vitalik.eth makes a very compelling point in his most recent blog that even speaking to someone like him gives him legitimacy

I think there's "a right way and a wrong way" to do it. The right way involves being very prepared and asking challenging questions and "keeping the eye on the ball" if the target tries to misdirect you or change the subject.

It's also easy to overestimate the extent to which "giving the target rope to hang themselves" actually works. To an experienced observer, it might feel like that's what's going on, but to the average person, their reaction is probably "he sounds convincing there, ok that's fair"
