What are your thoughts on talking/interviewing someone like Putin? I think @vitalik.eth makes a very compelling point in his most recent blog that even speaking to someone like him gives him legitimacy

I think there's "a right way and a wrong way" to do it. The right way involves being very prepared and asking challenging questions and "keeping the eye on the ball" if the target tries to misdirect you or change the subject.

More concerned about smart people like Fridman ignoring the cynical dishonesty and racist dog whistles of MAGA grifters like Carlson. Honest journalists with normal human emotions should definitely interview Putin.

Because Vitalik actually was in Ukraine after the invasion, he saw how country lives and functions, what challenges it faces. Giving a platform for the international criminal wanted for genocide is not a good platform, nobody will take it seriously and it won’t change anything except spread more hate.
