A positive milestone that somehow creeped up without me or many others noticing:

Geth is now under 2/3 of all validators!

In practice, this means that if geth has a bug that other clients do not have, the chain will stop finalizing for over a week, giving us time to fix the situation. https://i.imgur.com/WO2djKp.jpg

Thanks to all those in the community who have advocated hard for client diversity ahead of and since the merge! Still a ways to go but things are trending in the right direction.

I’m running Besu/Nimbus and happy to report that after a rough start post-merge, the attestation rate is now near-flawless.

I do not understand, the ether network can stop and it is good that it can be fixed, but the fact that it stops is bad or what is the achievement?

Is Erigon's codebase sufficiently district from Geth's that this situation is more likely than one in which the same problem affects both clients?
