Medians are vulnerable to some interesting statistical paradoxes that means are not. For example, consider this scenario: * The median family owns $100k in real estate * The median family owns $100k in DOGE * The median family net worth is $100k * Nobody has any debt This is possible! Challenge: figure out how.

Challenge 2: the median family also owns $100k in stocks. Median net worth is still $100k. Figure out how.

Family A owns $0k DOGE $100k real estate. Family B owns $101k DOGE $101k real estate. Family C owns $0k real estate $100k DOGE. Family A is the median for real estate, family C is median for DOGE. A/C are median for net worth

After thinking about this more, I don't think it's correct to call that the median family. It's "median DOGE ownership by family". If you want to find the median family, you need to define what the attributes of the family are. E.g. the median family by DOGE ownership has an average net worth of $233.33

Three families own: $0, $100, and $n respectively in RE; $100, $0, and $n in DOGE; And by way of consequence: $100, $100, and $2n in net worth, respectively. In that scenario, the median value across all families is $100 in RE, $100 in DOGE, and $100 in net worth. This holds for any arbitrarily large value of n.

A really good bok about statistics https://www.statisticsdonewrong.com/ For these scenarios we should be using the mode.

1. Me own nothing, 2. Trump owns 100k in real estate, 100K in Doge, net work is 100K 3. Musk owns 100k in real estate, 100K in Doge, net work is 100K 4. Vitalik own 1m in real estate, 1m in Doge, net worth is 1m So we get your result :D

Most are on the left side. The right side is dragging up the middle but not the average. Too too heavy.
