Over cook it and it's less likely to spoil in the fridge in-between bulk shopping trips to Costco every two weeks City people can buy produce every day and cook fresh meals (also you spend less or no time in a car, and that time can be used for cooking)

haha yeah I suppose on some level it makes sense. everytime I visit family out here they cook bacon super crispy or roast the hell out of vegetables until they’re mush. bizarre.
