Trying to target messaging at tech adjacent people who are not in the scene but not viscerally opposed to it either. Generally tech-literate but it’s not their main intellectual focus, and they have the capacity to make it a strong secondary focus. These people are really hard to find. Uncanny valley.

tbh this sounds like most programmers I know, at least the midwestern middle class ones. They show up for work, do their job, and go home to families and hobbies, not pet projects and philosophizing. So even though it seems like they're in tech they're definitely not in the scene.
