Sewed a 6” rip in an expensive sheet, probably caused by cat. I might be from the last generation that can actually sew as a routine maintenance/repair skill rather than a nerd hobby in a disposable age. Wife sometimes does some tradwife larping but she never learned to do mundane shit like this. We grew up in 80s India doing small repairs ourselves. Though she’s just 5y younger, growing up American probably means she’s a generation removed from such skills being commonplace.

It’s a sort of running spiral stitch that probably has a technical name. It will cause the sheet to warp a little (it’s the fitted sheet) but we should get some more life out of it. There’s probably a better technique.

This is all kinds of awesome. We live in such a throw away society now, these kinds of basic life skills are so valuable, but under taught and appreciated. Love it. 👊 😁
