What if any is the role of /gloom in wise decision-making? Not a troll question I’m sincerely wondering how to leverage a mind that naturally sees pitfalls to take care of, in a world that seems to reward optimism more 🤔

There is a controversial psych theory called depressive realism that argues that depression makes for more accurate reality perception. But I think I'm just naturally melancholy and like being that way. The US is a toxically positive culture....
