Why do you consider it the epitome? It seems nicely designed but I’ve never heard of it. Was it influential?

They kind of went over-the-top in what a magazine could be, including artful consideration of variations of paperstock (for photography, illustration, text). The editorial curation was exquisite, too. But the business model for such magazines isn’t sustainable, so they manifested, inspired, and then faded away.
