I think @christopher showed me this. I fall asleep when someone wants me to "earn rewards for contributing to the brands you love, but it's very popular, right?

i’ve been using the app for the past few months and honestly am impressed with how they’ve organized their channels/collectives. it’s basically the points meta from this past winter + NFTs + social proof from Web 2.0 apps. us boys have a lot to learn lol.

points are meaningful if the underlying product experience is meaningful to the user; and the points further that experience. a lot of crypto points meta was mostly worthless because the the users didn't really care about the products, they cared about the prospect of an airdrop.

tyb used their own brands to start the growth engine. they gave away cute dog NFTs as they dogfooded (no pun intended) their app. execution matters a lot.

definitely, i’d love points as a form of ownership someday i.e. every time i go to starbucks i own a tiny portion of stock and earn a tiny reward as far as today the reason i ask about “how material” is bc on farcaster i can participate in a /base-builds @rounds for example and earn for permissionlessly “marketing” base on farcaster the other day i shared and earned 0.015 eth for a single cast, this to me is material, versus being rewarded points that aren’t liquid and may only be worth 5 cents obv many different use cases for them, bullish on companies permissionlessly rewarding ppl who market them or even do work for them onchain, think we’re at the beginning stages of this where many more individuals can “work” for many brands all at the same time bc of onchain connectivity, /higher is another example of a permissionless brand here
