I’ve spent a lot of time over the past few years in major Westernized cities. There are cultural differences, but many things are the same. They all play the same (English) music and rely on the same basic infrastructure. What is the strangest place you’ve visited in your life. Why?

Macedonia when the money was starting to flow but the civilization hadn’t caught up yet. A city full of empty luxury hotels and expensive sculpture gardens but no one to see it use them
