When your Hub upgrades, you'll be prompted to ack a message saying that there are no rewards for running a Hub. 

Over 10k people have been tricked into running hubs by youtube videos promising (fake) rewards. This change will discourage those users from running Hubs, which in turn will give us more headroom to scale.

I missed the explanation on why so many hubs are bad at this point in time. 

Would you mind resharing the answer to that q?

We have more nodes than Ethereum and probably more than 100x gossip volume. 

So 13k hubs is starting to cause some minor issues. We will fix these up , but getting rid of hubs that aren’t useful to anyone will give us more breathing room to do that

does this thinking have anything to do with the recent alchemy takedown of a number of accounts running hubs using their RPCs?

I was impacted. Trying to get hold of them to reinstate. My hub is down meanwhile.

Are there 13 thousand working nodes? Where can I see it?
