When your Hub upgrades, you'll be prompted to ack a message saying that there are no rewards for running a Hub. Over 10k people have been tricked into running hubs by youtube videos promising (fake) rewards. This change will discourage those users from running Hubs, which in turn will give us more headroom to scale.

Can we just write on the hub startup that there are no incentives? Or make it like a new config where they acknowledge terms and conditions and that they understand there are no incentives This way people trying to start new hubs sees it clearly

what if you had to lock up like few hundred dollars of ETH to stand up a hub? no slashing. no rewards. you'll get your funds back whenever you want. still permissionless. just add a financial barrier.

I think it's good that they're making it clear there are no rewards for running a Hub. It's misleading that some people were tricked into thinking they would get rewards. Hopefully this change will weed out those users and allow for better scaling.

Kinda funny that you have to discourage users from running hubs to scale. I understand the whys, but seems counterintuitive from a number go up perspective.
