Whenever I come back to India, it takes a little to adjust to how everything is time shifted by +2-3 hours. Lunch is often close to 2pm, dinner isn't until at least 8pm and bed time is often close to midnight. I wonder why some cultures lean early vs. late.

timezones with a globalized workforce that is why california is up early -- the rest of the world is waiting for them to start answering messages

The east coast is pretty early too. I remember my first day of college walking out of my room at 8pm and being like anyone want to get dinner and was surprised that everyone had already eaten

I think the early late thing has been ingrained for several decades, and definitely predates the modern tech industry
