Why does Farcaster need / not need a native token?

(Could 2x2 matrix the answers with another dimension of now / later!)

I won’t speculate too much on future, but right now our biggest problems aren’t going to be solved by launching a token

good suggestions.

owning farcaster usernames will require a yearly fee, which solves the bot problem. 

promising financial rewards early brings people who are only in it for the money, which has a negative outcome on the quality of users.

Have y’all thought about requiring native token to cast? It’d limit bots

First X users get some larger supply than later? Encourage early adoption 

Maybe don’t want higher growth rate? Or maybe if there’s a cost to cast, it’d reduce usage too much?
