Audiophiles: how is the market for quality sound systems doing? Do people still buy living room amp/speaker systems and attach to TVs? Feels like everyone just gives up and uses headphones or simple built-in speakers on TVs/computers/phones these days. And afaik speaker tech hasn’t gotten much smaller physically.

the high end market shrunk significantly in the early 2000s and has sort of stayed small. still into amps + bookshelf + record player stack the mid rage converted into wireless speaker systems and now buys sonos the low end market doesn't buy audio (just listens on headphones)
