kicking around some ideas to improve this right now. the biggest contender is storage delegation. allow any account to purchase storage for itself or to redirect the storage to another account. apps can basically pay onboarding fees for all their users but reclaim them if they detect that someone is spammy. users can always self host just like today if no app wants to host them.

love the direction! would it be possible for apps to purchase storage and distribute it among N users until it’s used up, or does it have to be a fixed amount per user? this would be ideal for facilitating signups at events like /appcon

i wonder how many people are churning before they even try out the product *because* of the sign up fee have you considered a 7 day free trial before the paywall? warpcast subsidizes the storage fee for user's casts in that period - if user pays → you're in the clear - if user doesn't pay → delete their casts after 30 days (giving them time to change their mind and sign up if interested)
