my disappointment w/ w3 social is in its unoriginality. yes, there's so much to learn from successful w2 platforms, but it's not enough to iterate on the business model. eg: -WC = X+ -Zora = IG+ is it too much to ask for innovation in both tech and UX? the former enables new possibilities for the later

I'm asking for innovation at the experience layer. There was a time when social apps created new ways for people to connect. W3 is w2 but monetized. Obviously the ownership and financial rails are part of the appeal, but the experience is otherwise a Frankensteined version of something that's already stale. I will continue to give flowers to Zora for innovating at the protocol layer

twitter innovated nothing in how many years its running, right still a short message text broadcast platform ownership and other w3 benefits are part of the underlying foundation that isn’t on the surface level for people to interact with

that’s how life works, first the cell reproduces and then mutates people are familiar with twitter and it’s a solid ground to start, even with the problems we inherit I think that’s why we got some traction unlike lens but other approaches can work too how would you do it?

we got traction because there was a community of high-level people who had conversations and shared ideas with each other. now there's massive noise and an algo feed isn't going to solve it. why do we need to stick to familiar ground? the answer is that it's less risky, not because it's necessary. good design makes users look smart

exactly, there was a market, community and outside people wanting to engage with each other and share ideas that’s what warpcast team isn’t talking much about for many months now and rather keep talking about growth which is opposite from what I have in the first paragraph here
