my disappointment w/ w3 social is in its unoriginality. yes, there's so much to learn from successful w2 platforms, but it's not enough to iterate on the business model. eg: -WC = X+ -Zora = IG+ is it too much to ask for innovation in both tech and UX? the former enables new possibilities for the later

What did you have in mind? What about when you add Farcaster as a social layer? I think the networks are much more sophisticated technologically here, which gives the others a boost of a shared network effect And I think channels provide micro network communities that further boost the other apps πŸ€” Agreed that a paradigm shift would be nice, just curious how it looks

The broken parts haven't been fixed, but we have tacked on the parts that blockchain enables (namely identity ownership & earning potential). I wonder what thinking about w3 social from the ground up looks like. Would we still land here?

Don't you think for mass adaption, the w3 apps should follow their w2 predecessor?

Hey Steen, I agree to some degree. There's still a lot that can be done. At the same time, what WC did is making a platform with direct integration of w3 which is a real big step forward. The inclusion of frames and instant interaction with marketplaces is huge IMO. I know you have a love/hate relationship with channels here and I just casted about that. Imagine that we could post in multiple channels at the same time (when relevant) thus freeing up TL space and the need to QC yourself over and over to reach more people. (maybe more relevant for artists). The biggest problem however is we, the user, and our need for instant gratification, be it in the form of likes, tips, shares. If we could find an answer to that, social media will change with it.
