My sense is that artists and collectors on Tezos (objkt) haven't, at scale, migrated to Zora, the closest comp on ETH, and prefer Tez. Why? Culture? Is it that Zora isn't as good as Objkt? Rain 20000 $DEGEN to the most thoughtful responses.

Because zora doesn't feel like a platform made for art. It has zero information that is critical for a collector to make a decision whether to collect or not. My biggest frustration is when I can't even figure out the medium for an artwork, let alone other useful tags like date of creation, location etc. And I know the artists provide this info when minting.

I'm hearing discontent from Tezos artists recently. Today, complaints about the 25% referral that Objkt has implemented. Thats a big chunk to take from artists to a person who merely copy-pasted a link to your work into the timeline or whatever

Nice amount of rain, I do think the art culture intrinsically is better on tezos and feel some sense of fidelity to objkt, that being said, I have seen a lot of art to start to migrate over. Tip 200 $farther

Tez was better cuz I could sell my works with higher prices. I really work hard on my paintings and only could have a good sale on one of them on zora but still not that good. sales on tez is stuck for me. I still keep creating but kinda disappointed in market tbh. And I could find amazing artists on tez.

I use both, 1 - objkt has create a very good & strong art community , 2 - objkt has lot of better tools for artist, collectors and art organisers, 3- UI/UX is far much better 4- impossible to burn a piece // Zora is cool but needs a strong revamp & more tools // low gas fee for ETH is good, Tezos has not been expensive so is not very relevant ,

My feeling is that both complement each other very well and that the concept of Open Editions on Zora is somehow adding more value to the works on Tezos. While there are several common points between them, the ability to constantly discover new artists and explore specific tags or techniques on objkt is unparalleled.

I think it's a combination of potential burnout..The time people have put in to networking and building connections with collectors on specific platforms & they dont want to start over, and you dont see alot of photo collectors pushing Zora. I also think artist...particularly photographers..and I speak for myself there's a mental hurdle with Zora because I believe it has the niche culture vibe and the assumption that has to be OE & for zero listing. It also doesn't play nice with other platforms. It's glitchy. I think it's paving the way on the super chain but it feels like a train full steam ahead with the caboose that's flopping around in the back.

I think it’s twofold: - first, tez is very much their home, it’s comfy, they’re loyal to it, and they truly believe in it. - second, and not only the case with tez folk, but large swaths of crypto people: suspicious of and no faith in any L2 chains whatsoever.

I've collected some on Zora recently, but Tezos to me, has always better represented artists and their work. It's the culture, and community that always keeps me coming back for more 🖤🤌🏻

a free edition on zora still costs money in gas. a free edition on tezos is mostly free, with a smoool amount of gas. as a child of hic et nunc with it's wonky UI, i still could not navigate zora. tezos feels warm, cozy. like lying on moss, zora does not even try to be that. it feels cold, almost like stainless steel.

Too many spam free mints from farmers + projects on zora makes it a mess and not-so-attractive for collectors and artists but on the other side objkt has a more elegant and specifically artistic environment.

organic culture like that is hard to migrate and replicate. generative art is down bad across the board too. lot of tezos artists might not like editions as the default.

tezos has been a reliable market for many artists and collectors since the time of HEN, a comfort zone for several reasons. zora's mission is interesting but switching to zora might require a big update. artists should feel they have a place where they can create in their preferred mediums. i think zora should focus more on the various mediums of art that artists create and bring people together. zora's focus on internet culture has made its own niche market.

Hmm.. I think its culture and community, me as an artist on tez loves objkt a lot, making a welcoming environment for artists and collectors. This bond with tez influences their decision to stay. Users who are familiar with objkt on tez feel loyal and at ease with the platform.
