jesse: if Yon launched gdupi today as a ‘content coin’ on Zora, would it be considered a success? would it validate your thesis about content coins + zora? yon has earned (going by today’s prices) >$25,000 from $GDUPI rewards total creator rewards on (post-coin) zora are ~$460,000 Yon has individually earned ~5.5% of creator rewards earned by ~all~ zora coin creators. he is incredible btw, as you know and we’ve discussed. he earned these rewards because of his own exceptional efforts, talent, with some minor help on our side with distribution. just trying to understand: what about Yon’s experience leads you to believe that many more coins = a better model for artists? he basically did the opposite of some of the content coin stuff you’ve describe. Yon very much stepped up to seize the opportunity / obligation of creating cool work around the coin. and what about it tells you zora is the platform to help them do so vs. clanker? slightly confused as to the reference there.

no! that's the opposite of what I'm saying. putting aside where $gdupi is launched, I think it's good/viable to have a long running creator coin! what I'm trying to tease out is how do you reliably close the attention -> demand loop. I think there's potentially a path to doing that with creating content where you use that infinite game of content to drive value back to the long running creator coin. two ways I could imagine this working: 1. create content in the form of open edition NFTs, have it be mintable with $gdupi. this creates demand for gdupi, but unclear if there's sustainable demand for pure patronage at scale in this model 2. create content in the form of erc20s, pair it with $gdupi (a la what mint.club has been experimenting with). this also creates demand and I currently have a thesis could be more long term sustainable. my north star is how do we enable creators to create content as an infinite game, while letting the attention they capture drive value back to them. does that make sense?

Yeah this has been my plan for a long time but I don’t feel there is a solid framework to make it happen, kind of what I was mentioning before with needing splits and control of funds to flow from the fleeting attention to the permanent creator coins We need more nuance than a “post” token

yes! 100% agreed. this is where there's a ton of whitespace for experimentation. I think we need 10x more builders working on this problem. cc @mintclub

parent token paired content coin to empower creators + communities is something our team has been discussing a lot about still brainstorming some ideas - what do you think is the best way for this to be delivered to the hands of creators and communities? a mini app? a separate platform? a separate social client using farcaster protocol? would love to hear your thoughts!

I think a miniapp with good creator tools that then distributes paired content / coin through the feed is a good starting point. then you can expand to a dedicated app from there. I would focus on making import of your creator coin easy + usable creator tools + figuring out how to build a flywheel for content discovery (eg can you get the coined content to look good in the farcaster feed and be easy to support) I think there's something here. need more shots on goal.

100% down to iterate on this with you @undefined no pressure though, we’re gonna keep building around helping creators win bigger, for longer no pressure though strong gut instinct is that coins will simply never not be super competitive. sooooo competitive. liquid markets! beautiful, scary power right there, innit continue to think the best thing we can do is reduce the noise of our product-crowded market, focus less on marginal differences in mechanism design and instead find ways to align incentives and tell richer stories about what everyone is shipping
