What needs to improve to make Safari your default browser? Don’t say everything.

It would have to make a case for itself. I don’t really have any complaints with Chrome, and I know how to use the dev tools. It’s less about what it lacks, and more about convincing me to switch.

That said, any reason to switch?

I feel like part of my Chrome lock-in is the fact I use Google services for most things.

2fa and privacy are compelling, but not enough haha.

Also, idk, as a front-end dev, is there something to be said about using the engine most people use?

My reasons:

- Sync with mobile devices (I use reading list heavily)
- Autofill 2FA codes (sms, email, authenticator, passkey all supported natively)
- Apple Pay
- Resource efficiency
- Privacy

Apple Silicon def made this problem go away for me. It'd be way more compelling to switch if they were still using Intel chips.

I don’t have any besides it’s optimized for Macs and doesn’t kill the CPU. But of course that can be overcome with a more performant machine.
