For a long time I believed we would live in a world where everyone would have multiple addresses—in a similar way that we have hundreds of accounts for web services But for a while now I've been convinced that the actual address part will be as visible to end users as IP addresses are, that is, basically invisible and abstracted away FC primary addresses is a prime example of that—most people will only interact and transact with my fname, they won't need to really know my address The same will be true of other crypto apps—we're in a brief period of fragmentation and complexity around wallet addresses, but not too long from now most of us will never need to see them or track them

sure but if that’s the case, why bother with all this cryptography on blockchains? better use PayPal and whetever social network is the most popular by actual active users, ideally with >1k DAUs

it's where we may end up, familiar UX at the front (with existing widespread adoption) and blockchains at the back that said, main issue imo is better described by @polymutex.eth https://warpcast.com/polymutex.eth/0x451443cb
