A lot of exciting stuff. A lot of exciting incremental innovation. FSD is going to be a thing, autonomy is going to be a thing. I have an excel vault side for my cars for a while so this is it! OTOH I don’t want a humanoid in my home. The over technologization of our surroundings and lives makes me slightly uncomfortable, and weirdly not a fan of this uncreative uniform tech future, I want more color not dystopian I robot

Just finished this. Reminds me of how J.R.R. Tolkien was a huge fan and drew so much of LOTR from Beowulf. I felt like I was reading The Hobbit for parts of it.

I used to see other peoples kids and thought they were largely a waste of my time and attention (before I had kids). Now after having had kids, when I see other kids, my friends kids, my extended family's kids, kids I don't know even know -- and I think about how much time I've dedicated to spending time with my kids and yeah, and how they are kids too -- and it is safe to say that it has really changed my perspective drastically, 180. I care so much more for them because I know what it took, at least for me. And even if that's not the case for them I give them the benefit of the doubt and feel more responsible. In a way, I feel more responsible for the human race after having had kids

went for my first run in months today and it suuuuuucked so hard 😄 > way too hot at 3pm > haven’t been taking care of my lungs > sleep deprived from travel and jet lag > been in full on sedentary builder mode for several months but i’m so glad bc i got this sucky first run out of the way and got over the mental hurdle of getting back into fitness (and the beach was really nice)
