there’s a clear lack of conversation around the channels stuff on farcaster. echo chambers are bad and we do a disservice to farcaster long term if we: - always agree 100% with what @dwr.eth says and does / dont hold people accountable - are afraid to speak out about things, specifically the larger accounts here

Bankless should have the channel “for the greater good” but they should have had to pay a premium. Squatters suck, but that’s part of an open free market no?

I think it would have been less justified had the squatter actually been using the channel and growing a community in it Instead, there was a single “placeholder” cast, and no other activity. No one feels aggrieved except for this one guy who thought that he could get $50k from us

I mean we can agree this user behaved as a squatter and acted as one, doing minimal work of being early for max returns dans gonna make fun of me for this but it does set a dangerous precedent where’s the line? where Dan says it should be.

Isn’t “the line” the explicitly stated moment that warpcast makes this a permissionless part of the protocol, and this *cant* happen at all We’re just not there yet

I don’t t know that’s it’s fair to point to the fact we haven’t made it to permissionlessness yet when that’s the reason the channel can be taken away. If it was post, there’s not much you could do.

Yes but you’ve used your influence to circumvent the market. I dot. Fault you for it at all. I don’t know the account, but even if they never posted. They were there first. $50k is extortion, not profit. So if that’s the game they were playing, their bluff got called.
