So many questions from an artist perspective. Can I do artistic editing (by hand) while keeping the verification. Do you see this using more for technical/political purposes or are there artistic use cases you envision?

Probably a dumb question but as a photographer, I like buying non-ai photographs. Not sure how this would fit in with manual or slight artistic edits

It's not a dumb question - think of e.g. the history in Lightroom. What they'd have to do is write a proof that there is a sequence from your original authenticated photo -> through a bunch of Lightroom filters -> final image. Lots of work to get to that point, but definitely possible.

I would say you could save a Merkel tree of the og photo so the edits can be known by whom and go back in time through the modified versions. That would be freaky awesome. A git of verified photos and their edits is something really cool.

def not a dumb question — would love to see a solution for art as well. (not sure if there is something)

Seems easy to say “you can verify that the original, unedited version is in fact a real photo <here>”
