Farcaster's open and permissionless data model is great while we're still a small, high-trust community. 

But it's fundamentally at odds with privacy. 

I'm not sure we've fully internalized the consequences of having a permanent history of our speech tied to our financial records.

So many young people here have no idea what it feels like looking your kids in the eyes and explaining why they did/said things or why they didn’t do/say things

The data is there for them to see as well. It’s why I’m not always winning friends and influencing people. I’m just trying to sleep at night 😂
