If 10x the work is automated, how do you feel ownership of the work?

A very poignant question and "ownership" can be a very emotional concept. I don't think "I wrote the prompt for that" is going to result in a very strong emotional attachment.

I would hazard a guess that the best craftsmen are attracted to doing what they do in large part because of the proud feeling of ownership of the work. There's also the time component involved in honing and using a skillset to produce work - if you can do it 10x faster, then presumably you'll have about as much ownership as a factory that pumps out cookie-cutter products at scale, which is to say very little.

So they won't even really notice that the company serving them the AI is actually retaining ownership and they're just "renting access".
