"An economy with a conscience..." Now that's an interesting problem to tackle! How do we design our systems to encourage this idea?

I believe it is not as hard as we sometimes think it is. Every system should not be designed to please just a few individuals or serve other systems (e.g., most social media algorithms). After that thinking becomes a fact, we can focus on actually designing for humans, which means the needs of people. The overlap here will create some natural answers. If we use design thinking as a starting point, we will use a non-linear process as suggested by IDEO. In this process, we challenge the status quo by identifying the core problem and ideating various solutions first before scaling them down, prototyping them, getting feedback, and iterating on the best possible solution. I believe the most dangerous fear we can have is that the change will cost us more than it is worth, while in fact, the gain will always outweigh the cost when systems are improved for more than just a few people.
