Do you belong to 'a side'? If yes, I have news, when a democracy dies, there is no side you can take. It will be bad for everyone, yourself included! In "The Silent Slide - The Story of Democratic Decline" I am investigating democratic erosion and democratic backsliding to highlight the silent yet deliberate actions that need to be taken to turn a democracy into an autocracy. The patterns are always the same and undenieable, so are the facts and stats linked in the article. Looking forward to feedback, extending thoughts and even ideas on what about democracy I should investigate next. Just the other day I was prompted on my TikTok to add to a conversation on Anime villains: Anime villains we hate to love. It made me think which villains were my favorites and why. Turns out after looking at all of them the commonality between them is easy to discover: with all of the nine I picked the author(s) took the time to explain where the characters frustrations and pain are coming from. I wish in our world we would take more time to understand where others are coming from. I know it doesn’t excuse bad behavior but it makes it so we can focus less on the noise and more on collective problem solving.

Who hasn't checked out Decentralands Metaverse Fashion Week yet? The platform has improved so much, and I couldn't resist going on a little shopping spree yesterday. That said, this year, there are tons of free garments exhibited there that you can claim. I highly recommend stopping by. It's been a busy season so far with @ethereumdenver, MFW at Decentraland, preparing for @farcon with @thecreators and showing up for ETH Cinco de Mayo. Today I gave a short webinar in collaboration with Rolemodel Rebels, a female centered platform that has growing interest in learning more about emerging technologies. The title of the webinar was "Threads of Trust," highlighting the current biggest problems in the fashion industry to how blockchain can potentially solve some of them. Stealing art is an art form by itself (see here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steal_Like_an_Artist). But right out copying someone else’s style/ art is just not ok at all. In the time of AI this has been more popular than ever before but it doesn’t make it right. Upon the latest AI release of OpenAI a lot of people utilized the era defining art style of Studio Ghibli to turn their profile pictures into Hayo’s works! While it might seem fun at first, isn’t it just setting a bad standard? The founder of the studio has said on multiple occasions how negatively he feels about AI and I believe this needs to be respected. Really take a moment and think before just imitating and impersonating someone else’s works! Is that what you would want to happen to your work without your consent or being paid?
