Moxie doesn’t make the rich richer as much as it incentivizes people to create content that is engaging for rich (high social graph) people. Most rich will never get as much moxie as they give, but what they will (hopefully) get is more engaging content.

You say that like that's good. Those already at the top have a clout-moat. You said it, everyone is gearing their content to this new elite-class of casters. The opinions of this elite are literally worth more than others. It's the definition of oligarchy. The "content" argument is bunk because quality is subjective, and the ruling class are the only judges. Only hope plebs have is to breakout and join the ruling class. Plus, everyone is focusing their engagement on this top class to try to get moxie trickle-down. Where have we seen experiments in trickle-down economics? And they're still getting actually richer too because all this scrap-hunting by plebs just boosts their moat even further. *halfseriousrant

Tbf, this is more of a Warpcast problem than moxie. Moxie/degen just exacerbates it. When there are more clients, features, ways to engage, and actually viable subcultures, moxie and tipping could actually be more effective.

I think most systems need a set of “trusted users” at this point - completely permissionless systems are too exploitable rn. If the top casters are the culture to proliferate, then creating content that is pleasing to them will spread that culture. The nice thing about FC is that you could theoretically create your own client with its own “trusted users”. It’s not economically viable right now, but it is technically viable.

The missing part in your argument is that those rankings are not static. People can lose their rankings as they are constantly changing. Imo, this is the best and closest scenario for "breaking the wheel", but only time will tell for sure.
