What is something that has been on your mind this week that you haven't had time to get unpacked that you'd like to explore?

I love this topic!! What are some of your approaches? A component I've been thinking about is staged growth, with appropriate buckets for participants. Here's a stab at a flow: - start slow with a core group, minimize external exposure - as organic discovery happens start embracing new members and ideas as they reflect the core mission in their contributions - start opening to the public, but keep them engaging on the periphery to act as a funnel for value aligned contributors to rise up organically - start expanding the core and distributing ownership & control to members as they move through the funnel - formalize onboarding iteratively as a natural structure starts to emerge - as leadership grows, core founders start to phase out of task level activities so that a culture of circulation of power evolves, instead of power concentrating over time What do you think? Anything relevant to your exploration of the topic?

this sounds amazing! was concerned about gaming the system, so was worried i'd overreact and say onboarding isn't a thing, but then just do it sometimes, which probably would piss people off, bc like integrity :)

I love the idea of closed, invite only groups. I think permissionless is a destination, not a beginning. The more groups take the time to incubate their ideas, the more refined they become before they get diluted by outside input. The core values need to be strong enough to supercede the original contributors. Think Apple cult. The goal can be to evolve into an "exit to community" type network, but if you take that step too soon you risk fractionalizing your leadership before it can become effectively self sufficient as a trust network.
