a friend of a friend killed himself tonight.

his suicide note is public on Facebook and I read the whole thing - he lost his girl, was in soul-crushing debt and a shot credit score because of it, his adhd wouldn't let him process and regulate emotions normally. 

I felt every word in my soul.

i found myself flirting with this line, and i had to make drastic measures to make sure my kids' mother was around for them. I got deep into the woo and cold turkey quit my corporate job 1 year ago. 

i am only here today because I slowed down -- below the pace of everyone around me, to wait and listen. and to return to waiting and listening when I forgot what I was doing and distracted myself again. and repeat. 42ily

my pivot is similar. my new job isn’t in the tech world at all it’s more manual labor stuff which is definitely a young man’s job (I’m 42 myself) but it’s monotonous and repetitive enough to keep my mind at ease. I spent a year+ doing nothing and just searching so I’m grateful for the opportunity.
