Americans have psyopped ourselves into playing pointless blue bubble status games and in turn have ignored basically every cool innovation in smartphone form. Meanwhile you can get some truly gonzo Androids. They can’t stop wont stop making weird and cool phones Case in point—the new WP200Pro 5G, by Chinese manufacturer Oukitel The phone is built for outdoor adventures. The water- and dust-resistant smartphone body features shockproof casing, an aluminum frame, impact-resistant glass and reinforced rubber. On the back of the phone is a small additional screen that can display notifications. This screen can be popped out and placed into a wristwatch accessory, or put in your ear as a headphone (!!!!). $699.99 — I’m tempted https://oukitel.com/products/oukitel-wp200pro-5g

If this could work as a phone-double, that would be unreal. As in, it's not my daily driver, but I can use it as my primary (same number, logged into apps, etc.) on an adventure trip without having to jump through a ton of hoops.

It feels possible if you’re already an Android user and are wealthy enough. A new iPhone costs $2k list and this is $700. So ostensibly you could get this, another more “normal” phone and still have money left over
