This year I’m looking to build a digital nomad resort in Costa Rica. I would love to hear your thoughts on the things you can’t do without when you’re doing the DN thing. Besides low ping internet. How about an espresso machine? Maybe a fresh local fruit every morning? What is something you have to have?

Access to activity options like surfboards for sunrise/sunset surfing, yoga mat, bikes, ATV’s… rainy days like ping pong, cards, fire pits, cooking, etc. The hotel or B&B places I stayed always accommodated those.

All great recs! How long did you generally stay at these places and if you were to stay for a full annual visa (one year) which things would you add to that list?

I stayed at each spot for 2-4 weeks. I would only book places that had coworking offices on site that were surfing lodges. I bounced around from San Jose to Monteverde to Tamarindo to Santa Teresa. I would go back to explore the Caribbean side. I need a kitchen with pot/plates etc., my own bedroom, and bathroom. I'm too old for hostels but want to opt in - community space to naturally make friends I would go to the Selina to make friends to do activities with or just chat. AC units and fans - 100% Generators for rainy days/season Pool with lounge chairs ATV or bikes to get to places Hammock Help line/safety center for single female travelers Activities for rainy days like ping pong, cards, TV, etc.
