It's not big because it's an unexpected technical breakthrough

It's big because it's fun and lets ppl easily create content and share with friends -- reminds me a lot of Bitmojis which was acquired by Snapchat

This is also why the "hello, HR?" meme applies to Google Gemini but not Ghiblification (one is fun)

There have been ai tools around that do the same thing with hundreds of different styles..

This one just went mainstream..

I agre that its fun, but from a creative POV is not a big thing.. you take a picture (or steal an image) and put it through a filter.. with a stolen style too
