Does anybody has a thesis on why smart contract wallet like Argent hasn’t taken off? If account abstraction is the barrier (dApps previously need a lot of work to integrate with these wallet), then zkSync/Starknet’s default account abstraction might be the inflection point.

No killer use case yet for general smart contract wallets. I think winners in this space will be smart contract wallet infra that provides 1) unified view of assets across dApps to users, and 2) enables dApps to customize their wallet UX

Not enough dapps support ERC-1271 properly yet (smart contract signatures)

I believe it's because there are not enough users on L2s yet where even without AA gas is cheap enough to make it work. I agree that it feels like we are coming on an inflection point. SCWs seem like the best solution for accessible self-custody.
