I thought it was just a matter of internal effort lol. I don't always visualize everything in great detail, just because I'm lazy. But if I need to or am just bored, I can visualize everything in great detail. Never thought that might not be the case for someone else :(

Yeah I'm a 5 too (aphantasia), for example in my dreams it's like I'm blind, it's always just pure darkness. I can't picture things just remember details about them.
