I built two decks from the modern horizons 3 bundle with my son. I got both of these monsters out and he beat me with Phlage and a little 1 drop. Oh well, the more he wins, the more he wants to play 😊

How old is your son? My 10 year old can’t sit long enough for me to teach— I need like a few “starter-starter” decks or something

I am going to research those decks, and see if 1 of these goobers wants to game with me, I’ve found it difficult to find people with similar availability and a relaxed disposition to children— 

I think I may have pushed too hard because I love card games and board games so much— it’s like now an auto turn off, for both my kids—

Last year at Gen Con we demoed a few “kid friendly” ttrpgs as well hoping I could GM for like a Sunday afternoon game with the family. So far, nothing has stuck long enough for a proper campaign.

He's 9. We started a year ago with the Lord of the rings starter decks and a friend loaned me starter decks from the early 2000s where the most complicated thing is flying. He was only mildly interested at the start but he's seen me going to prereleases and other things and so has gotten more interested lately.
