I'm still super surprised that barely any web3 social projects have done experiments with monetization that factor in advertising (at least from what I have seen over 5 years). Unfortunately, for the same reason web2 projects ban web3 advertising it is likely the majority of it would be extremely dubious and scammy stuff - but it could at least be whitelisted/curated since there are a huge number of web3 projects dying for users with decent marketing budgets to spend. This feature on Bluesky I dare say looks kind of cool.

I think @ampsfun is building in this direction but in a more peer-to-peer way. But yeah, still no onchain attention auctions.

I'll have to take a look at it - I think advertising into channels is a great way for them to get funding independent of the protocol/foundation and use those funds to reward their own users and do initiatives but I'm not sure how a mini-app could do that just yet.
