Reading a reasonable article about crypto in the mainstream media and then get to this line: “Even stablecoins, though, have failed to gain much use outside of speculative trading, and the occasional money laundering operation” Speculative trading of… stablecoins? 😒🤦🏻♀️🤣

It means people use stablecoins to do speculative trading (i.e. as an on-ramp) not that the stable coins themselves are speculative. And it would be accurate if I had to guess because most major exchanges pair against stable coins for the most part.
