I thought you were talking about the horse cum thing. With the stolen valor claim, it's apples and oranges. None of the people saying Vance fucked a couch actually believes he fucked a couch, and they don't expect anyone else to believe he fucked a couch. It's pure mockery, based on the fact that he kind of seems like the kind of guy who would have fucked a couch, even though we all know he didn't. The stolen valor / swiftboating is completely different. It's a deliberate attempt at convincing voters to believe the lie that Walz behaved dishonorably, even though he didn't. It needs to be called out as bullshit.

both are designed to discredit and humiliate. you said it yourself, the consensus from the left is that vance just seems like the kind of guy who would do something like that. it hardly matters then if it's actually true, the fiction becomes its own kind of truth, like the trump piss tape. how many people believed that, still do?
