Ezra Klein during his latest podcast: "crypto is a solution endlessly looking for a problem" He's not that wrong. Hopefully changes now that the UX is almost at parity. Seems like the entire history of crypto has just been a story of getting to that starting line.

I have no problem with crypto being a solution looking for a problem. I still like it, and I don't get why people use that argument as if it's some sort of damning indictment.

Yea a lot of technologies start that way. They were talking about how $trump coin enables unprecedented corruption. Thats one of the reasons critics are particularly annoyed with crypto lately.

American liberals and leftists are going to need to move past their distaste for crypto real quick. We're looking at a minimum of 4 years of vindictive financial surveillance that will be targeted at anyone critical of the Trump administration. Crypto might be one of the only ways to maintain some measure of financial autonomy in what's coming.

Anecdotally, I've already seen a number of very progressive friends buy Bitcoin for the first time in 2025 because they're worried Trump is going to destroy the US.
