Ezra Klein during his latest podcast: "crypto is a solution endlessly looking for a problem" He's not that wrong. Hopefully changes now that the UX is almost at parity. Seems like the entire history of crypto has just been a story of getting to that starting line.

It has solved problems. What I mean is so far, they’re just pretty marginal compared to other frontier tech like AI, synthetic bio, etc.

Stablecoins are a real product and use case, its just boring and most people don't want to see it as a use case.

Completely disagree, problem is obvious if you look past one nation state: - payments are slow and expensive - fees are too high for businesses to accept cards - exchange rates are bad - buying long term assets like stocks is too complex and many more if you get used to something, live in one location and it works for you - it doesn't mean all these problems don't exist anymore those problems just harder to fix because any government won't let you solve them without their control

I think the problem goes deeper. If UX was the only problem, then tech-focused podcasts (which don't need a motivating problem/solution, as their audience is fundamentally curious about new technology regardless) would cover crypto more. Yet they don't. https://warpcast.com/polymutex.eth/0x292f9bbc

I have no problem with crypto being a solution looking for a problem. I still like it, and I don't get why people use that argument as if it's some sort of damning indictment.

do disagree here. The problem is the existing financial system.

P2P stablecoin transfers are way better than the alternatives, although less necessary in North America and Europe. @ahn.eth and I had this conversation yesterday.

i honestly can’t see why the fact that the tech (uniquely) enables digital ownership isn’t enough to show that it’s a solution to an extremely important problem.
