Interval training again today. I change the workout slightly, I have several that i like to switch between, and this one is a one hour workout similar to last weeks but starting with 9 minutes instead of ten, and reducing the walking rest time to no more than 3 minutes. It works out as 45 minutes of running over the hour in total and fifteen minutes walking. It's actually my favourite of all of the workouts I've got saved. I don't feel that great on the walk to the park but I start strong, abd and quick, and actually feel amazing once I'm running. The first run leg is quick, the second faster, and on the third I'm flying. I feel amazing. On the six minute run section I begin to feel a little heavy in the legs, and the five minute one is even harder. I'm not checking my watch as I go round but it's set to beep each kilometre run during the run section and i know I'm going fast but not how fast until it doesn't beep during the five minute stretch and I know I'm not going quite at 5mins per km.

I know I must be close, though. The four minute section is the hardest of all, and I wonder whether I've gone too quick, but I don't give up, I get through it, and the 3 minute, 2 minute and 1 minute sections fly by relatively quickly. My fastest km is done in 5.02 minutes which is a massive improvement on my initial times. Total run time 45.01, total run distance 8.56km, overall pace 5.16m per km. Total distance covered over the workout - 10.08km.

Forgot to mention on that 3 minute run section I began to feel a little niggle i .my ankle and I've got a pain now in my left heel. Miraculously in the two or so weeks since I've started running again, apart from after the first run, I've experienced no muscle pain at all. What seems to trouble me most these days are joints and bones more than anything else. Internal organs like a Ferrari, skeleton lile the chassis of a fiat panda 😂
