Not sure if this is a scam but I received a dm on X by a famous artist featured on AB asking if I’m open to collab… don’t want to share publicly her name but I think it’s a very strange request since we never interacted before. Her account seems authentic but I heard of hacked profiles recently. She proposed a zoom chat on Monday so I guess I’ll receive a link. Should I propose a safer approach? Maybe I should setup the call and send the link instead of receiving it? And of course I will never download or click anything 🤔

It's a scam the profile is def compromised, received the same message.

100% scam the collab + conference is the most common scam either if she sends a zoom link, double check the link url.

Tode, that's the most typical social engineering attack. Zoom link would not work, she proposes an alternate tool you have to download/install. And boom 💣 Pls. don't fall for it my friend!

Well I suggest using your approach to be safer gives you the ability to have some control of the narrative. Sometimes things are what they seem but rarely hell I thought I was getting scammed on X this week but I really did win a giveaway for $100 from moonpay
