While browsing the Getty museum today I saw hundreds of paintings, but was drawn to two in particular. Upon closer examination, they were both by Monet. Something about the colors and style stood out from across the room. The use of paint creates a physicality that makes the scenes feel real.

His work is incredible. Really changed the way light was seen or represented. The really huge paintings are so incredible to see in person
