Vitriol on X against Sriram’s appointment has so far led to what seems to me a very positive outcome:

Sacks and Elon have publicly stood up for putting meritocracy over nationalism when it comes to solving the most critical problems facing the US and the world. 

A very silver lining to an idiotic cloud.

The most important contradiction within the side of MAGA saying "admitting smart immigrants is bad bc they steal our jobs" is that this same part of MAGA prides itself on being proud that real Americans are "Winners".

But true winners don't base their actions on fear of competition.

I see, hadn't noticed this was the crux.

But still: There are people who are willing and able to do the same job for less, while having to live in the same country?  Sounds like fair "competition" to me.

The point is that H-1B employees have much lower salaries, which is not fair competition in the first place.
